 Tengku Dato' Shamsul Bahrin graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Arts (Hon) from the University of Malaya in 1962; and a Master of Arts from the University of Sheffield in 1964. He was conferred the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Malaya in 2005.
Working experience and occupation

Tengku spent a period of thirty-four years in the University of Malaya where he retired as a Professor. His administrative experience includes being Head of Department of Geography, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and has served as a member of the Senate and Council of the University of Malaya for a number of years. Currently, he is the President of Nilai International College and a President of the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities.
